Our Delta, BC location of Zodiac Hurricane Technologies has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Worker & Yard Labourer in our Production Department. The position is permanent, full-time working Monday through Friday starting at 6 am with opportunities for overtime.
We are seeking individuals with a positive mindset and attention to detail to join our team. The candidate must be willing to work hard in a fast-paced team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines with maintenance experience and the ability to lift a minimum of 23 kgs (50 lbs) and working with strong-smelling chemicals. Manufacturing or production experience is an asset, but not required.
The Maintenance Worker & Yard Labourer performs a variety of general facility and ground maintenance and repair for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, facilities and yard.
Maintains tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order.
Using a forklift re-locates items as needed.
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, examples include repairing drywall, painting doors and other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical experience, basic carpentry and heating and cooling.
Uses hand tools to complete work and tasks assigned with time restraints in mind
Ensures work is completed within the standards of workmanship and meeting quality requirements.
Follows and understands the direction and instructions of supervisors and team leaders while working independently and collaboratively with fellow team members and supervisors.
Attains daily quality and delivery targets through standardized work.
Follows company standard requirements and adhering to policies and procedures on safety and quality protocols.
Adheres to all safety requirements and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment where required.
Responds to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety.
Builds relationships and demonstrates a high level of cooperation.
Completes paperwork as needed.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Sitdown/Counterbalance Forklift Certificate is required
2-3 years' experience in general plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems
Two years' facility maintenance experience is preferred
Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract is required - with Code 20 preferred
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
Strong organizational skills
Capable of working with strong-smelling chemicals
Capable of problem-solving and decision-making
Familiar with the use of basic hand tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with the capability of lifting a minimum of 23 kgs (50 lbs) on a regular basis
Steel-toe work boots are required
WHMIS training is an asset
Working in a production facility or warehouse environment is an asset
Desire and ability to learn new things.
