Job Description

Calvin Christian School's collegiate campus is seeking a part-time Maintenance Person to support the upkeep and daily operations of our school campus. This position is Monday through Friday, approximately 3.5 hours per day (7:00 am - 10:30 am).

Key Responsibilities

Building Operations & Safety

Monitor and maintain the heating system and Air Handling Unit. Perform and/or coordinate required safety inspections (exit lights, extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire doors). Ensure compliance with City of Winnipeg and Province of Manitoba testing requirements. Open the school daily and ensure facilities are operational.

General Maintenance & Repairs

Perform general building repairs and maintenance. Identify, coordinate, and monitor larger repairs beyond personal scope (with the Head of School). Assist with moving furniture/equipment as requested by staff.

Grounds & Seasonal Care

Snow removal (sidewalks and bus loading areas); apply de-icer as needed. Maintain flower beds, weeding, and general outdoor upkeep. Complete spring clean-up of garbage, gravel, and debris.

Support for School Operations

Assist with set-up/take-down of tables, chairs, risers, and platforms for school events. Coordinate one to two volunteer workdays annually. Perform basic cleaning duties when required.
