Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is an acute care hospital located in Cornwall, Ontario along the scenic St. Lawrence River. CCH provides a full range of acute inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services to a catchment area of 100,000 people from the communities of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and to the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Summary of responsibilities
Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Provide routine maintenance of, and general repairs to broken or faulty hospital equipment such as, but not exclusive to, the following: wall repairs, painting, building envelope repairs, leaking faucets, plugged toilets and sinks, wheelchairs, furniture, hospital beds, doors, windows, etc.
Changing of locks and keys when required.
The installation of equipment such as bulletin boards, dispensers, etc. shelving and assembly of office furniture.
Completion of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks per the ticketing system.
Other duties as assigned.
Minor renovations
Erecting and dismantling of containment units.
Requirements of the job
Provincial Trade Certification
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Must participate in on-call rotation
Good computer skills
Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and technical manuals
Ability to use power operated tools including drill press, saws, etc.
Knowledge of building automation equipment and electromechanical equipment
Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
General mechanical knowledge
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
Valid driver's license and access to own transportation
Asset:
Functional proficiency in oral French
