Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician \xe2\x80\x93 TQ Electrician effectively troubleshoots, repairs, installs and maintains all packaging, processing and utility equipment for Factors Group and subsidiary companies. Specializes in electrical and electronics. You will take into consideration the company\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to your area of responsibility.

:

• Troubleshoot all production, utility and processing equipment
• Electrical installation of new equipment to current code
• Troubleshoot PLC controllers, servo drives, optical sensors, operate interface devices, instrumentation, flow meters, variable frequency controls, motors and DC drives
• Adjust and optimize equipment performance
• Install and train on all new equipment
• Perform equipment inspections
• Weld mild and stainless steels and fabricate parts
• Assist Operators in setup and tooling
• Solve problems with equipment
• Interact with suppliers to source spare parts and maintenance supplies
• Service air systems
• Follow preventative maintenance schedule
• Complete maintenance, write work reports
• Read equipment manuals and maintain trade and technical knowledge
• Clean equipment
• Work on other assigned maintenance projects
• Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices(cGMP)
• Strictly adhere and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
• Other duties as assigned

• Electrical and mechanical background
• Trade TQ (BC or inter-provincial) or technical degree in electrical discipline
• PLC programming and troubleshooting abilities. Experience on Allen Bradley, Omron and Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Experience with optical sensors and electronic circuits
• Experience with DC speed controls and motors
• Ability to size conductors and connect new equipment
• Minimum 5 years of experience on operation and maintenance related equipment
• Knowledge of compressed air, vacuum pumps and HVAC equipment
• GMP knowledge
• Troubleshooting skills
• Experience with A/B and Indramat servo drives and variable frequency controllers an asset
• Forklift certification or experience an asset
