Position Overview:



Cedar Valley Selections Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure smooth and efficient operations at our food manufacturing plants. This role requires adherence to strict food safety guidelines, including HACCP, GMP, and GFSI compliance, to ensure the safety and quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:



Responsible for the overall maintenance and calibration of mechanical, electrical, computer-aided technologies used to manufacture, package, store and ship our products. The Maintenance Technician assists the various departments to ensure that all plant equipment and maintenance systems function in an efficient and safe manner. Provides excellent technical knowledge by assessing production requirements and matching available resources to complete preventative maintenance and corrective work orders. Prepares maintenance reports and the evaluation of the gaps between target and actual Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), along with recommending continuous improvements to processes, procedures and/or equipment. Assist in all continuous improvement initiatives for the area and ensures appropriate root cause analysis. The Maintenance Technician ensures compliance with all Health, Safety, and Quality standards while meeting maintenance performance targets. Coordinates with the Plant Manager and/or designate to maintain inventory of operational supplies, material, and equipment readiness for maintenance repairs. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. Installing new production equipment. Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment. Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines. Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools. Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. Coordinate with Plant Manager/Administrator that annual maintenance budget and plan are developed and followed and that cost targets are within budget. Manage the processes and secure the resources to ensure availability of the appropriate tools. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facilities as needed. Work closely with the QA and Food Safety teams to ensure all maintenance activities adhere to HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address potential issues before they lead to significant problems. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services. Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical parts are always available when needed. Create and implement safe operating procedures and safety signage/mechanisms around all equipment and workstations to enhance overall workplace safety.

Qualifications



A Millwright certification is preferred but not required. Certification as an Electrician is a strong asset.

A good knowledge and understanding of GMP and HACCP. Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician. In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Basic computer and report writing skills. Good communication skills. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment. Good time-management skills.

Physical Requirements

: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
