About The Role:



Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily machine repairs and proper corrective actions. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for all building maintenance; Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, contactors, more starters, etc., as needed; Perform work order repairs, inspection, adjustments, and calibrations; Use exceptional problem-solving skills to make quick and effective decisions; Able to design and fabricate small repair parts; Responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance activities on weekly and daily work; Maintain and update Down-Time Tracker and predictive and preventative maintenance schedule; Notify Production of extended repairs and downtime; Ensure work order and preventative maintenance documentation processes are in place and administered; Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production activities; Create and secure a safe work environment; Participates in plant health, safety and environment programs; and Any other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:



Education

Post Secondary education in electrical or mechanical related courses; and Technical Trades Training / Licensed Millwright (433a) with Canadian Apprenticeship preferred.

Years of Experience

5+ Years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Working Conditions

Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises; On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards of physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions; Work environment requires wearing PPE; and At times requires driving to hardware stores, or suppliers to carry out tasks.
