Summary
Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
Technical Lead and Oversight:?
Perform regular mechanical and systems monitoring inspections, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met.
Respond to and execute routine, on-demand, or emergency service requests.
Coordinate with Department Managers and the Scheduler for optimum scheduling of routine machine maintenance, repairs, testing, and new equipment installations.
Lead in developing preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all departments
Recommend and implement improvements for machine recurring reliability issues where they may occur.
Work with Department Managers and machine Operators to establish and maintain proper work area cleanliness, and support best practices with regards to tools, parts, and supplies around their equipment.
Ensure peak performance of critical equipment through continuous monitoring and maintenance to support our 24/7 manufacturing operations.
Identify and maintain relevant parts inventory for each machine to reduce downtime
Work safely and abide by OHSA regulations as well as Glenmore policies and procedures.
Work Order Management:?
Remain responsible for achieving all maintenance quality and safety goals.
Efficiently coordinate technical assignments and oversee the timely completion of equipment-related tasks.
Establish and manage work order life cycles and provide routine progress reports to Management
Maintain thorough records of technical work order history, including equipment-specific details and expenses.
Submit all expenditures for approval?and manage the maintenance budget, seeking cost-effective solutions to ensure operations are unaffected.
Solicit and evaluate technical quotes for any outside equipment repairs and upgrades, with a strong focus on minimizing operational disruptions.
Hold vendors to high technical standards, report timeline delays, emphasizing the importance of maintaining equipment integrity to prevent any disruptions.
Onsite Visibility:?
Establish a strong technical presence on production floor, and cultivate a relationship with on-site personnel, emphasizing the importance of efficient communication, equipment reliability, technical response to equipment issues, and feedback on repairs performed.
Take ownership of safety measures as it relates to equipment, ensuring the secure operation of critical systems.
Inspection Management:?
Establish and maintain a meticulous technical inspection checklist and database specific to machines and equipment maintenance.
Monitor operator compliance and conduct facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system inspections.
Document and analyze technical findings, prioritizing equipment-related repairs and upgrades.
Proactive Communication and Escalation:?
Escalate critical equipment-related issues to Upper Management to minimize downtime and workflow disruptions.
Maintain open and technical communication channels with stakeholders, emphasizing equipment status and maintenance updates.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance in the manufacturing industry very highly sought after (Direct Print Manufacturing maintenance experience highly regarded but not required)
High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
College diploma as an industrial mechanic or the equivalent in education, training and/or experience
Strong Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills a must
Forklift/Counter-Balance, considered an asset
Must be able and willing to work a flexible shift, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise.
Requires strong organizational, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work with many different departments, types of industry-specific equipment, and all levels of management and staff to assist everyone in achieving their goals
Pay range:
CA$30.00 - 35.00 per hour depending on experience
