The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and facilities. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and structural components remain in good working order, supporting a safe and well-maintained environment for tenants and staff.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and other building equipment.
Inspect and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural components to maintain operational efficiency.
Respond to maintenance requests and service tickets in the company's system, updating records upon task completion.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, including air exchangers, mini-split units, and household appliances.
Communicate in advance with tenants when building access is required for inspections or repairs.
Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and report low stock to the supervisor.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Support emergency maintenance calls as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Skills
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude across multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
Good communication and customer service skills to interact with tenants and property management.
Time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical stamina to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required.
Previous experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar building maintenance role.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and household appliance repair.
Familiarity with maintenance management software or ticketing systems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends for emergency calls.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
