Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Lead Hand, this position will focus on maintenance of the production equipment such as control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, forklifts, conveyers, sensors, pumps, vacuum system, planetary mixers, automated welding machines, steam generator, vibrators, pneumatic hand tools and reels in our plant facility. You are also responsible for general housekeeping and other shared duties in and around the facility. Safe work culture is encouraged.
Responsibilities:
Perform and adhere to lockout and tagout program and procedures.
Set-up and maintenance of production related equipment
Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
Repair or replace defective machinery parts.
Fabricate parts if required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
Adjust machinery and equipment, as necessary.
Change out conveyor belt, gearbox, and bearings.
Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine preventative maintenance work on machines.
Perform regular testing to ensure safe working order of all machinery.
Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedure.
Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to plans using hand tools and power tools.
Ensure safety devices are operating properly including on completion of repair.
Keep your tools clean and orderly.
Keep a clean and environmentally safe work area.
Maintain a log and follow directions as instructed.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
High-School Diploma
Post-Secondary Diploma as Millwright or equivalent work experience
Skills and Experience:
3 Years relevant work experience in a similar or equivalent role
Sound knowledge of control systems; electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical.
Experience with cranes and forklifts is an asset.
Ability to read electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
Ability to fault find control circuits.
Machine installation and removal
Design and fabrication of fixtures/tools
Familiarity with maintenance software's, procedures, preventative maintenance scheduled and safety.
Use of hand tools, power tools, hoists, and winches
Demonstrate applied math, mechanical and basic electrical knowledge.
Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and noisy environment.
Ability to work on a team or independently without supervision and meet deadlines.
Ability to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
Job requires person to work in different settings that could require you to work while bending, crouching, kneeling, and crawling.
Ability to prioritize tasks, follow schedules, and follow specified policies/procedures.
