Help Shape the Future of Energy. Compass is seeking a Maintenance Technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead Hand, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the building and equipment at our Calgary facilities. What You Will Do Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the buildings and equipment.
  • Work closely with third party vendors.
  • Assist with moving office furniture and supplies.
  • Light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on shop equipment including the following: bench grinders, drill presses, chop saws, threaders, band saws, welding positioners, welders, cranes, compressors, overhead doors, etc\xe2\x80\xa6
  • Perform checklist inspections, maintain records, calibrations.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance calls in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Compass Quality Control and Safety Program including accident investigations and inspections.
  • Assist in other areas of shop as required and assigned by Foreman/Lead Hand.
  • Ensure all maintenance requests are dealt with and updated on maintenance program.
What You Bring Your education and experience include:
  • Journeyman or Indentured Apprentice in a relevant trade.
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Must be able to provide own basics tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OH&S, rigging, sling, and crane operation procedures..
  • Data entry skills \xe2\x80\x93 some light data entry required.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with attention to detail.
Physical Demands
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
  • Requires employee to stand for at least 75% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear required PPE, compliant with OSHA regulations including fire retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, as applicable.
  • Requires employee to occasionally climb stairs or ladders and must be capable of maintaining balance on stairs or ladders without assistance up to 25 feet.
