We are seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join The Glencoe Club. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the building's aesthetic charm, ensuring every corner of the Club reflects top-notch care and attention. Your expertise will ensure that all finishes throughout the building remain pristine, elevating the overall ambiance. You will deliver exceptional service, making certain that every building component is in perfect working order and that the Club's environment is not only visually appealing but also inviting and enjoyable. Through your dedication, you'll create a clean, safe, and vibrant atmosphere, elevating the overall experience for all who visit.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and restore ceilings, walls, wood, and flooring Organize and manage stock of wall coverings, flooring, and other materials with precision Ensure upholstered surfaces remain clean, well-maintained, and inviting Support snow removal, groundskeeping, and seasonal facility upkeep as required Collaborate with fellow Operators on various tasks, contributing to seamless team operations Conduct routine inspections of facilities, mechanical rooms, and building systems, documenting findings and addressing deficiencies in a proactive manner Ensure clear, effective communication (verbal and written) with members, staff, and supervisors, promptly addressing concerns and ensuring safety standards compliance with Glencoe Health and Safety standards and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations Respond to work requests in a timely, professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to members and staff

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, with a Carpenter certification considered an asset Proficient in staining, varnishing, drywalling, caulking, and wall vinyl installation Skilled in general building repairs and carpentry work, including framing, finishing and flooring Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, and technical specifications with strong attention to detail Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, boilers, mechanical rooms, and automation systems would be considered an asset Ability to assess repair needs, diagnose issues, and provide practical recommendations within a timely manner Ability to work in a member-focused environment, maintaining professionalism, discretion, and minimal disruption during repairs Strong communication, writing, and public speaking skills Diplomatic and outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships with members and employees Ability to balance independent tasks with shared responsibilities across the Facilities team

Additional Details:

This is a Full Time position that reports to the Facilities Manager. The successful applicant must have flexible availability. Hours are primarily Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, totaling approximately 40 hours per week. Exceptions to this schedule are for occasional night work

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace certification prior to commencing employment.
