The J.D. Irving Sawmills Division is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our South Bay Chip Plant team in Saint John, NB as an Maintenance Supervisor



Drive a Health & Safety culture and ensure policies and procedures are followed, and accident investigations conducted; Supervise Industrial Mechanics and outside contractors on repairs, ongoing improvements, and unplanned downtime; Lead improvement of Maintenance Best Practices and plant operating practices; Develop a culture of Continuous Improvement; Data collection and analysis, including financial analysis of potential and active projects; Ensuring projects are in control and measuring savings; Monitor, track and enhance current equipment availability; Training and development of apprentices; Coach maintenance team on JDI values and work assignments;

Education Required: + Trade Certification or Associate's Degree in a related technical field
2-3 years of supervisory experience Mechanical knowledge is required Hands on experience with predictive and preventive maintenance practices; Proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining reliability improvement initiatives; Project management and prioritization skills is required Experience with Microsoft Office and JD Edwards E1 are an asset Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems; Exposure to a manufacturing facility would be an asset; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members; Strong time management and organizational skills; Valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract are essential Lean Six Sigma training is an asset
