About the Role:



The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the overall supervision of maintenance mechanics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including day-to-day activities and dispatching the right qualified people to do the preventative tasks, as well as urgent tasks required throughout the day. This position requires initiative, leadership, excellent communication skills, and confidence regarding your technical and organizational talents. Your objective will be to improve the site reliability through successfully raising each employee's level of knowledge and skills, and score carding the daily maintenance activities. This position focuses on upgrading mechanical team members' skills so that the whole group will be better equipped to handle most mechanical tasks with minimal supervision on all shifts.

Develop, lead and maintain capable and effective employees in all areas of the maintenance function.

Supervise and coordinate the work of the mechanical staff.

Maintain all factory production machinery and warehouse equipment for maximum up-time availability.

Coordinate outside contractors to work on equipment as needed.

Supervise the mechanical team to maintain proper settings and adjustments of all production machinery for optimum performance prior to and during production runs.

Mentor, motivate and train the mechanical staff and packaging operators in the proper use of manual and automated equipment in production.

Ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment and services, involving cost control, worker safety, food safety and product quality.

Ensure open and effective communications with all departments. (This may require a flexible work schedule)

Responsible for scheduling work orders, preventative maintenance, assessing employee training needs and performance.

Continue to improve the preventive and predictive maintenance program to reduce downtime and improve overall maintenance costs.

Handle employee issues including progressive discipline, vacation, overtime etc.

Work with the Senior Management and team leaders on any specific equipment and facility maintenance and work order including making routine day to day suggestions for improving any plant processes.

Other duties as assigned.

About You:



Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills especially with attention to detail. Able to speak and write English fluently.

Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure in a fast paced and continuously changing environment.

Strong computer skills including MS Office.

Demonstrate success working in a mutually supportive team environment.

Mechanical/Electrical background required but post-secondary education in technical field would be considered an asset or previous work experience in a similar environment.

Self-starting proactive individual, who takes initiative, works well independently or under minimal supervision.

Working knowledge of a computerized work order and preventative maintenance systems.

Willing and able to follow specific instructions.

Able to use basic power tools required.

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Canadian, or have legal permission to work in Canada (e.g., open work permit).

Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

Able to perform repetitive tasks, standing for long periods of time, and lifting up to 30kg.

Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
