We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Supervisor at our mill in Golden, B.C. In addition to having millwright experience, the successful applicant will exhibit strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage their team's performance, enforce safety procedures, and contribute to positive team morale.
Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of millwrights, welders, carpenters, oilers, and vibration techs to ensure a high quality of service is provided by your team
Lead by example and ensure your direct reports have an understanding of business objectives as well as their individual role within the business framework
Assist with planning and scheduling maintenance jobs, ensuring that work is performed safely and efficiently in accordance with PWT procedures and policies
Communicate and interact regularly with the senior management
Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve the productivity and efficiency of the mill
Promote a safety-first culture and ensure that safety procedures are strictly followed
Conduct job briefings, end-of-shift briefings, safety activities and meetings
Maintain EAM Work Orders and ensure daily hours are accounted for
Maintain EAM Task Lists for machines and build new EAM Task Lists
Review vendor inspection reports (i.e. vibration analysis, oil sampling, NDT, OEM machine inspections, etc.) and identify required corrective tasks
Contractor management, prequalification, onboarding, work management, performance monitoring, and offboarding
Guide and support employee development, promote self-managed work teams, and help foster a capable, empowered, and engaged workforce
Maintain positive working relationships with union officials and job stewards
Abide by the collective agreement and enforce PWT policies when supervising your team
Requirements:
Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or a Mechanical Engineering Degree
Previous experience working as a millwright or a mechanical engineer, preferably in a mill or other heavy industrial setting
Previous supervisory experience
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS Programs, EAM
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
Understanding of WorkSafe BC requirements and OHS Regulations
Knowledge of inventory management practices
Ability to work under pressure, maintain safety and professionalism, and meet deadlines
Exhibit a cooperative attitude, strong leadership skills, and focus on quality assurance
Apply consistent effort in the face of challenges and see assignments through from conception to completion, working within the prescribed parameters
Maintain reliable and punctual attendance, with flexibility to work overtime as needed
Ability to meet the physical fitness demands of the job, including being on your feet most of the day, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, grasping, working with equipment and manual tools as needed
Ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds

Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, plus overtime as needed
Must be able to work a shift that includes Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the annual salary, this position is paid directly for any overtime hours worked.
