The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee tradespeople and contractors assigned to their team in performing maintenance work. They will also supervise inspections and repairs of assigned equipment. The supervisor will regularly conduct inspections and checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly. They will ensure the team meets safety objectives and complies with policies and procedures.





Supervise industrial mechanics, electricians, and boiler operators in an industrial environment Train and develop apprentices Plan and prepare work orders Assist with parts and inventory control, payroll, and preparation/submission of daily and weekly reports Commit to superior performance in a safe work environment

Education

: Engineering degree or technical college diploma; Red Seal certification

Experience

: 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the sawmill industry Ability to work flexible schedules, including day and weekend shifts Strong mechanical knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Problem-solving skills, analytical and synthesis abilities Broad understanding of workplace health and safety programs Ability to work as part of a team Self-motivated, proactive, strong leadership, and attention to quality Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to influence others Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Bilingual Must meet JDI selection criteria
