CHEP is looking for a motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Boucherville, QB! This role will lead a team of 3 technicians and will travel to 3-4 other plants in the region approx. 2 days/week.

About the Role:



Responsible for leading the service center maintenance departments to achieve the safe and effective maintenance, repair or replacement of plant facility systems.


Key Responsibilities may include:



Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and effective maintenance, reducing equipment downtime and improving overall plant efficiency. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively enforcing corporate Zero Harm policies and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and building services. Implement process reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving equipment reliability and efficiency targets. Manage the procurement, inventory, and budget control of spare parts and consumables, ensuring effective stock management to support maintenance activities. Lead and support capital expenditure projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor and optimize the use of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards through regular safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management processes. Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance management to meet the operational needs of the plant.
Support the activities of the maintenance team, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance operations. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled machinery and systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory control of spare parts, through our CMMS program. Collaborate with other departments, including production, EHS, quality, and engineering, to optimize plant operations and achieve production goals. Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge. In conjunction with SCM and the Regional Maintenance Supervisor , manage maintenance budgets and control costs while maintaining high standards of service.



Performance Metrics for Evaluation:



Equipment Downtime:

Measure the reduction in equipment downtime due to effective preventive maintenance and timely repairs.

Maintenance Response Time:

Track the average time taken to respond to and resolve maintenance issues.

Safety Compliance:

Monitor adherence to safety regulations and the number of safety incidents or violations.

Maintenance Costs:

Evaluate the ability to manage and reduce maintenance costs while maintaining service quality.

Team Productivity:

Assess the productivity and efficiency of the maintenance team, including the completion of scheduled tasks and projects.

Training and Development:

Measure the progress and improvement in the skills and knowledge of maintenance technicians through training programs.

Customer Satisfaction:

Gather feedback from other departments on the effectiveness and responsiveness of the maintenance team.

Qualifications:



Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintenance, with a strong understanding of industrial automation systems. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, with a commitment to promoting a safe working environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in both French and English

Essential Qualifications:



Licensed Maintenance Millwright/Industrial Electrician or equivalent Ability to lead through example and work as a subject matter expert to indirectly lead a team of Maintenance Mechanics. High Degree of Computer Literacy

Additional Requirements:



Familiarity with various PLC brands and programming languages. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools. Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency situations

Assurer le respect des regles de securite et des politiques de l'entreprise, en favorisant un environnement de travail sur. Tenez des registres precis des activites de maintenance, des performances des equipements et du controle des stocks de pieces de rechange, grace a notre programme de GMAO. Collaborer avec d'autres departements, y compris la production, l'EHS, la qualite et l'ingenierie, pour optimiser les operations de l'usine et atteindre les objectifs de production. Offrir des possibilites de formation et de perfectionnement aux techniciens d'entretien afin d'ameliorer leurs competences et leurs connaissances. En collaboration avec SCM et le Superviseur de maintenance regional, gerez les budgets de maintenance et controlez les couts tout en maintenant des normes de service elevees.

Conformite a la securite :

Surveillez le respect des regles de securite et le nombre d'incidents ou de violations de la securite.

Couts de maintenance :

Evaluez la capacite a gerer et a reduire les couts de maintenance tout en maintenant la qualite du service.

Productivite

de l'equipe : Evaluez la productivite et l'efficacite de l'equipe de maintenance, y compris l'achevement des taches et des projets prevus.

Formation et perfectionnement :

Mesurer les progres et l'amelioration des competences et des connaissances des techniciens de maintenance grace a des programmes de formation.

Satisfaction client :

Recueillir les retours des autres departements sur l'efficacite et la reactivite de l'equipe de maintenance.

Qualifications essentielles :



Mecanicien industriel / Electricien industriel certifie ou equivalent Capacite a diriger par l'exemple et a agir en tant qu'expert technique pour encadrer indirectement une equipe de mecaniciens de maintenance Haut degre de maitrise informatique

Exigences supplementaires :



Familiarite avec diverses marques d'API et langages de programmation. Capacite de lire et d'interpreter des dessins techniques et des schemas. Maitrise de l'utilisation des logiciels et outils de gestion de la maintenance. Volonte de travailler selon un horaire flexible et d'etre sur appel en cas d'urgence.
