The De Beers Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual to join the Site Services and Engineering team at the Gahcho Kue Mine Site based in the Northwest Territories. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent, Process Mechanical and works a two week in two week out rotation. The incumbent is responsible for integrating and maintaining the process plant planning and scheduling system while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the values of De Beers. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing daily, weekly and seasonal schedules in SAP for maintenance activities according to production needs and resource availability to minimize downtime or production losses;
  • Analyzing and interpreting maintenance trends and variances and initiating required corrective action;
  • Issuing work orders according to production needs and resource availability;
  • Submit warehouse tock and direct charge material requests for project works;
  • Conduct weekly backlog review meetings;
  • Create and update equipment, material, and functional location BOMs;
  • Liase with Sit Services trades people to scope and plan upcoming work;
  • Monitoring work orders to determine maintenance status and efficiently managing backlogged work;
  • Producing a weekly KPI report and to communicating status updates to stakeholders;
  • Coordinating with the Project team to document and catalogue OEM information;
  • Working with the shutdown crew to stage materials and tooling required for upcoming shutdowns;
  • Planning and conducting weekly shutdown meetings with stakeholders;
  • Developing and implementing practices to ensure quality, safety and efficiency of procedures; and
  • Attending daily maintenance meetings to guide the supervisor in daily assignment activities.
Qualifications
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada;
  • University degree or a valid Inter-provincial trade qualification certificate in a related field and to be included with the application/
  • Certification or advanced training in maintenance planning;
  • Minimum ten (10) years in Process Plant task coordination and maintenance scheduling in a mining environment;
  • Advanced SAP, computer and MS Office skills including MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with project scheduling software and computer aided drafting packages would be an asset;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental Standards; and
  • Experience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment would be beneficial but not required.
