Position Summary:



Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the facility are run smoothly and efficiently. This involves coordination of staff, effective management of resources, and accurate tracking of progress. This role will be primarily responsible for developing standardized job plans, managing, optimizing, coordinating and scheduling required resources to execute the plans with minimal disruption to production.



Main Duties:



Develop and improve maintenance job plans, including such as Preventive Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance, Major Overhauls and Operator Care (TPM), within our CMMS system; Coordinate and schedule all maintenance and contractor activities; Ensuring that all planned maintenance work complies with Safety, Regulatory and industry standards; Support preparation of capital projects Approval For Expenditure (AFE) documentation; Develop standardized job plans for Major PMs and Overhauls including labor, materials, tools and equipment; Asset management: organize and maintain accurate asset records, assign criticality ranking and prioritize job plans based on criticality; Lead weekly Planning & Scheduling meetings with key stakeholders; Plan all activities associated with Equipment and Facility outages, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, to provide for maximum use of available resources; Create weekly schedules for all planned and corrective activities, at least one week in advance, including contractors; Working with engineering and the operations teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and upgrades; Leads the development of Equipment Bill of Materials, ensures critical spares are entered into CMMS and linked to the asset; Support procurement of necessary maintenance supplies and equipment, as required, for PMs and Major Overhauls; Assist the MRO Buyer in development and preparation of Job kits and staging of maintenance parts, as required; Working with vendors and contractors to scope, schedule and coordinate equipment repairs; Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, workflows and best practices; Perform follow-up on completed Work Orders to ensure; all labor hours, materials, and necessary notes or procedural changes associated with the work are accurately recorded within our CMMS, and the work is closed in a timely manner; Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Maintenance/MRO, Operations, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety, to scope (tasks, effort, part/tool requirements, permits) and prioritize planned work; Maintain related HACCP/CFIA and MSDS documentation and coordinate semi-annual and annual inspections; Acquires quotes and negotiates contracts with suppliers and vendors, to source the best value on maintenance parts and services; Maintain all Master Data in our CMMS, such as Equipment and Employees records; Prepare, analyze and communicate maintenance KPI's, such as: PMC, PM/CM ratio, MTBF, MTTR, etc.; Identify continuous improvement opportunities that support increasing wrench time and drive overall work management efficiencies; Train maintenance technicians and operations staff in the utilization of the CMMS system, as required; Any other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements:



Strong communication, negotiation, organization and problem-solving skills; Minimum 5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; Experience with Facility maintenance including Refrigeration, Air compressor, Fire suppression systems an asset; Minimum college diploma, university degree in Engineering or MMP certification is preferred; Experience with implementing and in-depth knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts; Strong knowledge of production equipment, tools and parts required (i.e. electrical, plumbing, mechanical and technical); Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements; Experience using a CMMS; Ability to communicate in English both verbally, and in writing; Advanced computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications).

Hiring Range:

$51,158 - $63,948

Please note that the hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
