We are seeking a flexible and talented individual to join us as a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler in Grand Falls, NB. Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the mechanical aspect of the manufacturing process and have a desire to develop and hone new skills, while seizing the opportunity to own their career and personal development.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Research, prioritize, schedule and drive the execution of maintenance work
  • Produce and distribute a weekly maintenance schedule with input from maintenance supervisors
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
  • Track craft backlog and recommend resource changes to achieve a manageable backlog
  • Use SAP to develop a daily work schedule to secure adequate resources to complete preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance.
  • Schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, as well as equipment preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Provide labor estimates for internal and external resources.
  • Conduct regular review meetings for overdue, unplanned and pending work
  • Promote proactive maintenance processes and develop strategies that will drive continuous improvement from an operational standpoint.
  • Assist in the development of PM\'s, predictive maintenance, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Supervise a small reliability-focused maintenance team.
  • Maintain and improve CMMS arrangement of the plant, such as equipment hierarchy, Bill of Materials (BOM\'s) and risk registers.
  • Integrate with other members of the Maintenance leadership team to coordinate execution of work.
  • Help coordinate shutdowns and management of shutdown Gantt charts.
  • Provide a safe working environment by assuring and enforcing strict adherence to all Provincial and Federal standards and McCain Policies.
  • Lead and / or participate in investigations as required.
  • Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure that the work is done properly and safely.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
Qualification Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Apprenticeship program, technical school, or Associate\'s Degree
  • Journeyman Certificate and/or, Industrial Mechanic Millwright and/or, Industrial Electrician would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • 1- 3 years\' relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Must be a team player
  • Good technical knowledge and skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship
  • Good optimization skills
  • Thorough knowledge of plant operations
