The Opportunity: Reporting to the MRO supervisor the MRO Coordinator maintains the inventory management and warehousing long-term strategies based on the consequences of equipment failure and the business\' needs/acceptable risks (i.e. unscheduled downtime versus inventory levels). They consider these business parameters, the tools available and how best to support The Maintenance department.

The MRO Coordinator is a detail-oriented storekeeper with inventory and warehouse management experience applying proven MRO best practices in an industrial environment. The Coordinator is familiar with using the SAP warehouse management system, MS Office tools and with applying Standard Operating Procedures in his/her work. The Coordinator follows company policies, standards and guidelines as they apply to all activities.

The Coordinator has good leadership and communication skills, works well in a team environment, is responsible and is open to change. The person is structured, results oriented and quality driven.

The MRO Coordinator promotes and maintains a safe working environment through compliance with MLF\'s Health and Safety Program. This includes Food Safety and Environmental compliance.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Collaborate with MRO team, including purchasers to ensure optimal stock levels of critical spare parts.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts including physical counts.
  • Compare physical stock count to SAP stock to ensure accuracy and reconcile differences.
  • Create bin locations physically and in SAP system.
  • Stock bin locations with spare parts and maintain an organized storeroom.
  • Maintain the spares criticality (ABC classification) in SAP for all inventoried parts.
  • Set Min/Max levels based on usage rate, usage patterns, delivery times, targeted service levels, equipment criticality and required safety stock levels
  • Work with Planner to ensure all required parts are available prior to the work being scheduled
  • Process all returned parts as required (by reason for return)
  • Resolve shortfalls in Inventory Levels.
  • Apply the Materials Management process in support planned maintenance operations.
  • Continuously improve the Materials/Inventory Management performance based on Maintenance and Operational results and data.
  • Maintain vendor information attached to the material part numbers (I.e. Lead time, vendor part #, etc...).
  • Conduct materials requests.
  • Follow the spare parts disposal process.
  • Review past work order history.
  • Process parts/materials request to meet time requirement.
  • Verify that parts/materials received conform to the PO and are in good condition. Inform Purchasing if the quantity of parts/materials does not correspond to the PO or are damaged.
  • Identify new, used, broken and refurbished spare parts in the warehouse and track in SAP.
  • Follow the plant split valuation process for repairs/refurbishment requirements.
  • Track materials warranties in SAP for major/high value parts.
  • Comply with the slow moving and obsolete parts program applying company rules to categorize these.
  • Ensure provision of care and preservation for spare parts in the warehouse.
  • Oversee the documented parts receiving and issuing processes.
  • Maintain the barcode / RFID receiving / issuing system (as applicable).
  • Kit and stage all required parts for scheduled work prior to the work being added to the schedule
  • Participate in the Maintenance department\'s continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use visual management techniques to improve key MRO performance indicator results.
  • Shipping/Receiving for vacation coverage.
What You\'ll Bring:
  • Grade 12 plus up to 2 years of study in a related field, technical school diploma at a community college, university or equivalent, plus a trade, apprenticeship, or operating training. College diploma/certificate in Purchasing/Inventory management preferred.
  • Highly organized individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective organized filing process ability
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office computer skills. Individuals with SAP knowledge preferred
  • 3-5 years\' experience in a manufacturing environment
