As a

Maintenance Mechanic

at Kiwi Newton Group, you'll play a critical role in keeping our precast and manufacturing operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Working primarily inside our Guelph plant, you'll take ownership of maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of industrial equipment and systems--from large batch concrete mixers and hydraulic tilt stations to pneumatic motors, conveyors, and steel moulds. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preventative maintenance and mechanical precision.

Position Details:



41 Massey Rd, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, N1H 7M6 Monday to Friday, 7am-4:30pm (some flexibility for maintenance schedules) Full-time, on-site within the precast manufacturing plant

Primary Responsibilities:



Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and building systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems including motors, pumps, mixers, tilt tables, conveyors, and batch plants Install, align, and move stationary industrial equipment according to layout plans using hoists, rigging, and precision tools Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, replace defective parts, and complete accurate maintenance logs and records Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, and electrical diagrams Maintain and repair hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic motors, pumps, and control valves Support plant operations by responding quickly to maintenance requests and prioritizing repairs effectively Operate and maintain forklifts, counterbalance lifts, and other material-handling equipment safely (counterbalance experience is a strong asset) Perform building maintenance as required, including repairs to lighting, overhead doors, shipping docks, and facility systems Conduct lubrication, cleaning, and safety checks on all plant machinery Support installation and commissioning of new production equipment and modifications to existing systems Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks to support repairs and equipment maintenance (MIG/TIG welding experience is an asset) Collaborate with production management to plan maintenance around production schedules and minimize downtime Work safely and efficiently, adhering to all company and industry safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:



Ontario Industrial Millwright (433A) License (asset) Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems PLC experience (troubleshooting, understanding control logic) considered a major asset Welding, fabrication, and basic plumbing experience considered an asset Proven ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy, fast-paced plant environment Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a collaborative maintenance team Strong communication and documentation skills (verbal and written) Physically fit and capable of working in varied plant conditions Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Counterbalance forklift and overhead crane license and experience is a strong asset
