The Position We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our Operations Team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible to lead 8 - 10 unionized Maintenance staff to continually assess equipment and services to ensure the plant operates safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be comfortable analyzing current processes and systems to highlight areas for improvement ensuring necessary utilities are working optimally. They must also possess strong organizational skills to keep track of multiple projects at once. Key Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Proactively check quality standards and functionality of services and machines regularly \xc2\xb7 Create and implement preventive maintenance plans and schedule maintenance work into the production plan \xc2\xb7 Escalate any problems early and schedule repairs to minimize downtime and loss to business \xc2\xb7 Conduct regular assessments and trainings to ensure safety of employees \xc2\xb7 Analyze processes to ensure efficient functioning and adjust as necessary \xc2\xb7 Effectively manage projects to completion in a timely, cost effective manner \xc2\xb7 Use/wear required personal protective equipment and ensure employees do the same \xc2\xb7 Source and purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentations to perform the maintenance work General Duties: \xc2\xb7 Establish, maintain and improve the maintenance planning and scheduling process \xc2\xb7 Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair/preventative/predictive/design-out activities on plant equipment and the premises \xc2\xb7 Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work; create and track expenditures to budget \xc2\xb7 Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work \xc2\xb7 Responsible to maintain accurate record of equipment maintenance history \xc2\xb7 Perform root cause failure analysis \xc2\xb7 Apply best practices in parts management to ensure adequate inventory of critical parts and ensure parts and equipment are stored and reliable. \xc2\xb7 Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability and maintenance department performance \xc2\xb7 Manage attendance and vacation of maintenance staff \xc2\xb7 Performance manage and drive engagement within the department \xc2\xb7 Maintain applicable inspections and certifications (e.g. steam, sprinkler system, ESA, prestart inspections) \xc2\xb7 Other duties as required Competencies: \xc2\xb7 Ability to demonstrate professionalism and maintain composure while working under pressure and in a constantly changing environment \xc2\xb7 Ability to motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives related to health and safety, quality, service and productivity \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate a positive attitude and act as coach and mentor to the team \xc2\xb7 Be a trusted leader to the team providing fair and consistent resolution to conflict or problems Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or related field \xc2\xb7 Millwright/Electrician Certification or equivalent experience \xc2\xb7 5 years management or supervisory experience with heavy machinery, production lines or related fields \xc2\xb7 Strong working knowledge of current ESA, OHSA, Human Rights and other applicable standards/legislation \xc2\xb7 Strong critical thinking and organizational skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to identify and solve inefficiencies in processes \xc2\xb7 Effective time management skills \xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits:
