Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Lead/Nursery Worker for our State-of-the-Art Tree Nursery located in Sussex, New Brunswick. In this role, you will assist in developing and directing the implementation of the nursery repair and maintenance plan. When required you will be the main machine operator and complete general nursery work throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing, executing, and directing maintenance operations on a day-to-day basis
• Assisting nursery staff during the core operations - machinery (forklifts, skid steers, etc.)
• Ensuring that all greenhouse equipment is fully operational
• Participation in the maintenance and implementation of an effective risk management plan
• General nursery work and site aesthetics

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar position would be an asset
• A license is not required yet someone with a mechanical aptitude is preferred
• Safety focused for every task as well as compliance with required standards
• Mechanically oriented with an understanding and skills in mechanical devices, controls, electrical, plumbing and carpentry is an asset
• Hands on, flexible, reliable, and attention to detail
• Enjoys working alone or in a team environment
