We are a service-based organization made up of great people who work hard to get the job done and deliver excellence in the communities where we work and live.Description:ATCO Frontec is seeking a Maintenance Lead/HVAC to join our Camp Services team in Northern British Columbia. The Maintenance Lead/HVAC is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of HVAC systems. Work may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems.The rate for this position is $48.00 an hour. Rates may be subject to change.Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, inspect, and schedule the overall day-to-day and maintenance operations. Contribute input for planned and scheduled work and assist with completing the committed schedule.
  • Oversee and perform a variety of HVAC maintenance tasks, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, plumbing, and other building infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all HVAC systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Conduct timely inspections, testing, and accurate reporting of equipment defects and deficiencies.
  • Respond to HVAC emergencies promptly, assess the situation, and implement appropriate solutions to minimize disruption and potential hazards.
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs and expectations, and to provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Ensure facilities comply with safety, electrical, plumbing, mechanical system, refrigeration, and pool filtration requirements, and take necessary action to resolve non-compliance as appropriate. Guarantee all installations, repairs, and maintenance comply with appropriate codes and environmental protection requirements.
  • Replace toilets, bathroom and kitchen sinks, bathtubs, hot water tanks, and furnaces (40,000 & 60,000 BTU).
  • Utilize power augers for toilet, bathtub, and main lines. Occasionally install tiles around bathtubs or sinks.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of staff on site.
Qualifications:
  • Red Seal Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic Certification is required.
  • Minimum Class B Gas Fitter License is required; Class A License is preferred.
  • Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform
  • Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and effective problem-solving skills
  • Excellent ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Ability to build and work in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety
  • Highly experienced with customer/client/user management in a 24/7 operation with a strong customer focus
