As a clean technology company focused on waste transformation, we have developed and commercialized a set of disruptive processes to transform municipal solid waste (MSW) streams into high value fuels and recyclable materials. Our first site is located in Chester, Nova Scotia.
As we continue to grow, Sustane is seeking a Plant Maintenance Lead who is an energetic, positive, and creative individual to join our dynamic team.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Plant Maintenance Lead will carry out diverse skilled activities involving the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities and designate and monitor the work of personnel in order to achieve the completion of tasks. This role ensures maintenance work is adequately planned and jobs are properly supervised. The Plant Maintenance Lead will work with vendors and plant operators and implement appropriate preventive maintenance processes for all equipment.
The Plant Maintenance Lead will ensure the appropriate amount of inventory is maintained for equipment spare parts and other critical materials while arranging the supply of parts and services. Leading thorough troubleshooting to replace or repair equipment in response to breakdowns, the incumbent will apply problem-solving methods in identifying the root cause of all equipment failures. Adhering to all procurement procedures, the Lead will work with the Plant Administrator to ensure proper spending controls are in place for work performed, as well as obtaining competitive pricing for lead estimates for cost of labor and materials needed for work orders. As a champion of safety, adhering to safety and environmental policies, regulations and compliance while completing Job Risk/Task Assessments, incident reports and incident root cause analyses is critical. The Lead will assist on all maintenance standard operating procedures and training material.
As an experienced maintenance person with a manufacturing/industrial background, you are comfortable with all things required to support the smooth operations of our first-of-kind advanced recycling plant. You have knowledge on statutory permit requirements and plant industrial design and fabrication. As a skilled communicator, you are proficient in preparing reports and other written correspondence. You bring experience in creative problem solving, particularly with respect to a new plant process in an early stage of operation.
