We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineering Superintendent to join our Maintenance team in Long Harbour.This is a permanent on-site position, working a 4x10 (Monday-Thursday) schedule.As a Maintenance Engineering Superintendent, you will be responsible for the maintenance engineering for the Long Harbour site while leading a team of Engineers, EIT\xe2\x80\x99s, including mechanical, electrical and other disciplines.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead and ensure Safe Production behaviors are exhibited by team members while reducing risk to ALARA. Coaching and mentoring engineering team through practical visible leadership and personal safety behaviors. Be courageous in taking corrective action when necessary to address noncompliance issues.
  • Conduct analysis and manage actions to aim to reduce operational cost and downtime. Monitor KPIs to engage team in improvement initiatives and effectiveness of a structured maintenance organization.
  • Lead/promote the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and adapt the team to VPS (Vale Production System).
  • Oversee improvement projects assigned by Long Harbour projects steering committee, monitoring and controlling the progress and performance of the project against the budget, and timeline.
  • Oversee the maintenance engineering team to support the front-line supervision in troubleshooting equipment issues and minimize downtime (improve maintainability) and reduce eventual losses in production.
  • Oversee the implementation of lubrication and condition monitoring teams and programs.
  • Oversee the QA/QC and Inspection team to ensure the monitoring of mechanical integrity of assets, providing support and resources to execute the inspections under the standards, and local jurisdictional requirements.
About YouEducation:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is considered an asset.
  • CMRP certification is preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
Experience:
  • 11+ years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering roles in the metals, mining or oil & gas industry.
Skills:
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Safe Production model of risk and hazard management.
  • Ability to solve problems and apply creative solutions to keep equipment and property in proper condition.
