We are currently seeking a Maintenance and Job Planner to support our Plant Maintenance team! This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining information (documents, schedules, work methods/programs) and activities relating to the department. In this role you will also coordinate and monitor systems as well as develop and maintain work schedules and cash flows for maintenance and construction activities conducted by the Plant Maintenance Department.
What You Will Do
--------------------
Manage work schedules for inspection and preventative maintenance programs for the plumbing, heating, ventilation, carpentry, welding, mechanical, small engine repair, vacuum truck, bricklaying, concrete and chain link fencing tradespeople.
Manage work schedules for planned major repairs, overhauls and component replacement of several thousand equipment fixtures and finishes under the responsibility of the trades listed for preventative maintenance as well as painting, asbestos abatement, electrical, structural steel, utility, soil remediation , janitorial, and machining work.
Prepare monthly reports, comparing current actual costs with budget costs, investigating variances and make recommendations on work activities to improve performance of the division's maintenance and construction efforts.
Manage work schedules for new construction, upgrades, replacement and modifications to equipment, fixtures and finishes completed by the Plant Maintenance Department. This will include operating and capital budget projects.
Develop, maintain and reporting on schedules for inspection of work under warranty.
Manage schedules for work required in response to audits by Internal Audit, Fire Prevention, Safety, Environmental Compliance, Security, Occupational Hygiene, Joint Health & Safety Committees and other Commission departments or committees.
Manage schedules for unplanned work.
Develop and implement logic diagrams, flow processes and critical path methodologies and analysis for optimizing multi-trade activities or work undertaken by the Plant Maintenance Department.
Develop cash flows for scheduling systems as required in order to assist in preparing budgets and evaluating alternatives.
Coordinate with Plant Maintenance Forepersons in order to obtain the required information for scheduling and provide them with the necessary scheduling information for the planning and management of their resources.
Establish and coordinate meetings with Plant Maintenance Engineering Sections to coordinate the scheduling of design and maintenance/construction.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

Completion of secondary school education in a relevant discipline or a combination of education and relevant experience in a technical costing environment.
Your application will reveal proven skills in the application of practices and procedures involved in the scheduling and cost control functions including hands on experience in the planning, preparation and analysis of logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts for construction projects and workforce activities.
Must have an ability to work cross functionally to obtain information from numerous sources in order to analyze, prepare and maintain progress schedules.
Must be proficient in the use of computer based systems including MS Project, Excel, Word and Access. Experience with Maximo is considered an asset.
Must possess sound judgement in addition to strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Your application will reveal familiarity with construction and maintenance activities.
Must have or acquire knowledge of Commission and Plant Maintenance policies and practices applicable to the work.
Must have or obtain knowledge of the Commission budgeting process/procedures and relevant cost control systems.
The ability to comprehend drawings would be considered an asset.
Project Management Professional designation would be considered an asset.
