We are looking for a Maintainer/Operator - Mechanical 2 (Pipefitter) to work in the Concentrator Maintenance department at the Iron Ore Company of Canada site in Labrador City, NL. The Pipefitter will ensure that maintenance activities are safely carried out to fixed plant, and associated assets, in a safe and efficient manner. The specific work schedule varies.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will be:

• Participating actively in company safety systems and initiatives
• Demonstrating a safe work record resulting from a proactive approach to safety
• Contributing to improvement ideas and solutions in the workplace
• Diagnosing and repairing all types of rotating and conveying equipment
• Using power and hand equipment, performing varied types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment i.e., harness, lanyard, SRL's, man-lifts, scissor-lifts

Please note: Fly-in-fly-out arrangements are not available. Relocation assistance is provided to support with relocation to the Labrador City region if applicable.

What you'll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
• High school diploma or GED equivalent;
• Valid Class 5 driver's license;
• Hold an Inter-provincial Steamfitter/Pipefitter certificate. Apprentices who have successfully completed 3rd/4th block apprenticeship will be considered.
• Experience in an industrial environment; previous mine maintenance experience consider an asset
• Self-starter, energetic, committed to achieving results
• Possess a highly flexible approach to work
• Team membership skills including the ability to work well in a team environment
• Experience with mobile rock crushers is an asset (for one of the departments)

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a leading Canadian producer of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets that serves customers worldwide. The company operates a mine, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities in Sept-aZles, Quebec. It also operates a 418 kilometer railroad that links the mine to the port.
