NWI Precision specialize in high-precision machining of nuclear pressure vessel components, helicopter masts, turbine shafts, and engine thrust links for various aerospace applications in the commercial aerospace and military aircraft category.
NWI Precision's 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto. Our dedicated team of approximately 200 employees focus on delivering quality products, to specifications on time, in the production of specialized cylindrical components. Due to an expansion of our Department to meet our increased customer orders, NWI Precision is currently seeking experienced Manual Lathe Machinists for our Afternoon Shift.
Manual Lathe Machinist Position Description:
The Manual Machinist will be responsible for all aspects of the set up and operation of the machinery and for creating quality parts produced on manually controlled lathes and other machines and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams.
Team members are required to complete paid internal training during the first 3 months of employment.
Machinist Qualifications include:
Five (5) years manual machinist experience in Aerospace manufacturing preferred
Experience with manual lathes a must.
Demonstrated experience working with tight tolerances related to wall thickness
Experience in tooling bands is an asset
Knowledge working with cylindrical parts of various lengths and wall thickness.
Machining experience with high quality metals such as Inconel, Titanium, Aluminum, stainless steel
Working knowledge and demonstrated accurate use of measuring instruments such as micrometers.
Ability to read and understand work orders, set up kits, ballooned sketches, measuring tools.
Knowledge of frozen processes and AS9100 requirements an asset
High school diploma or GED required
Certificate or Machinist knowledge. Relevant years of experience is an asset.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English both written and spoken
Must be able to interpret written work procedures
Clear Background Records Check
Meet the registration requirements of the Controlled Goods Program
Able to work in Canada. Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident Status Required.

Regular 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday, overtime paid after 40 hours per week. Opportunity for overtime by extending regular shift and/or weekend shifts.
Premium Shift Differential for Afternoon Shift - afternoon shift begins at 4:30pm. Shift premium begins on all shift starting after 12:30pm
