Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our machining facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of various machining processes. This role is crucial for maintaining production efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and fostering a safe working environment.

NATURE AND SCOPE:



The Machine Shop Supervisor reports to the Machine Shop Manager and is responsible for the management of Unionized classified personnel, compliance with plant policy and procedures, to achieve the business unit's mission and business plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Ensure compliance with organizational health, safety, well being and environmental rules and regulations

Ensure all staff receive necessary training in their classified technical discipline to maintain a safe working enviroment. machining tasks to qualified individuals and oversee the operations alighned with company objectives. Oversee and take appropriate corrective action to maintain Safety, Quality and Delivery aligned with company goals and policies in adherence to the collective agreement. Ensure quality control standards are maintained in line with the quality policy and ensure all employees are trained and follow the standards as established. Assist in development for continuous improvement in these standards. Work with vendors on material and equipment purchases and to review new materials and equipment available Participate in cost saving or process improvement projects
Assign and oversee requirements to ensure a clean work area and environment

Alert manager to any safety or quality issues needing attention

Participate in special activities, projects, and programs in order to support Bradken's safety, quality, and productivity goals

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Train employees on the safe use of tools and monitor their proper use

Take corrective action to eliminate any potential quality losses through the analysis of work operations, quality records, and customer complaints. Establish goals and conduct performance evaluations with reporting personnel Assign maintenance work as needed to keep the equipment and tools in good working order Ensure daily, weekly, and Delegate monthly plans are processed to meet production requirements and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining processes. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks. Familiarity with CNC programming is desirable. Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively manage a team. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in production. Pay: $73,400.00-$82,000.00 per year
