As a Machine Operator, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and adherence to production standards. Reporting to the Plant Manager and supervisors, you will utilize core skills such as blueprint reading and mechanical knowledge to execute tasks effectively. Your premium skills in CNC programming, forklift and crane operation will enhance productivity and safety on the shop floor. Additionally, your relevant skills in quality control and basic math will ensure high-quality output and compliance with specifications. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Read and interpret drawings specifications, materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts in order to accurately operate the CNC robotic plasma units to cut and produce high quality parts
Follow standard operating procedures for the robotic plasma cutting machine to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and to produce quality products
Perform daily maintenance to keep equipment clean and ensure plasma cutter is cutting effective and efficiently
Load steel material onto cutting robot rollers using cranes and other material handler equipment
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measurement devices as required
Unload cut material from plasma rollers outfeed and load them onto kitting carts to go to the fitters or paint booth
Cut scrap material using torches, remove from the cutting machine and place in scrap bin
Keep work area clean and organized based on 5S standards
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently
Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
Responsible for keeping a safe and clean working environment.
Ability to read drawings and make mathematical conversions.
Skills and Experience:
2+ years of experience on CNC plasma cutting machines
2+ years experience using material handling equipment
3+ years of experience using Microsoft office related software
Solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes
Ability to read a tape measure, square, veneer calipers
Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints
Knowledge of gases used during plasma cutting operation
Strong mathematical skills, mechanically and technically inclined
