MACHINE BUILDER



This role is responsible for:

At all times, act as a representative of Global Automation using our core values of

Integrity, Service and Qualityin relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers Promote and enforce a safe, clean, organized and healthy work environment through planned work habits in accordance with Provincial Labour Laws, Health and Safety Regulations, and company policies and procedures Manage all aspects of the mechanical build of custom automated equipment, including, but not limited to fabrication, machining of details, assembly of sub assembly and main machine assemblies, start-up, commissioning, installation and service Ensure that systems and processes are consistently used so that every job is adequately planned for and executed according to project specifications from project kick-off to the project completion When called upon, perform any cutting, fitting, bending, welding (Tig, Mig or Arc welding), painting or assembly required during the progress of the job build Travel to the customer's facility and provide installation, set-up, and support of the equipment Work with Supply Chain Coordinator to utilize any on hand opened raw material and components when possible Assist Department and Project Managers to ensure the job budget targets are met Ensure that any recognized Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) opportunities throughout the course of the project are adequately documented Assist the management team to determine a build schedule Provide technical support, as required, during the run-off of the equipment Work with the other project team members to resolve any open issues on the equipment prior to shipment, as well as resolve open issues after shipment, provide service, and/or address warranty items for the life span of the equipment Attend any launch, production or management meeting as requested Assist the production team in troubleshooting and solving production and quality problems Participate, as required, in the research, selection and trial/development of new technology to improve the products provided to our customers Assist the Global Automation team in ensuring that the quality of our product(s) meet or exceed the customer's expectations
Desired Skills and Experience:

Certification through an accredited College Apprenticeship Program, or equivalent experience 3 years of experience specifically doing assembly of gages, dies or automation and debugging of equipment Experience using Solidworks Ability to effectively communicate and establish relationships, credibility and trust with all levels of employees within the organization Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills to meet project timelines Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail Committed to the Company's continuous improvement initiatives Strong leadership and technical skills Positive attitude and MUST be a team player Ability to read and write English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,165.00-$66,560.00 per year
