This is an advanced level position using gained knowledge and experience to assist in the assembly of custom packaging lines. Mechanical aptitude is a must, consisting of tool usage along with adherence to technical specifications related to the ProMach family of equipment. The Machine Assembler is responsible for ensuring the correct assembly of packaging equipment by working with the team as assigned and monitoring the quality and outcome of the specified project.

  • Perform all mechanical assemblies using and interpreting assembly electronic drawings and 3D Viewers
  • Must be able to successfully and efficiently build sub-assemblies and assemblies and related components for ProMachs\xe2\x80\x99s range of packaging equipment. May be required to assist in the assembly department and with on-site installation of machines and/or related customer training.
  • Must be able to fit, align and adjust all components for assembly and testing with minimal direct supervision.
  • Follow and adhere to quality and assembly standards
  • Determine proper tools to be used to perform assemblies, including hand tools, power tools and manual milling machines
  • Proactively monitor machine build schedules and associated duties as set out by the Project Manager(s) and/or direct supervisor.
  • Work with Engineering to resolve component-related issues as they arise and provide positive feedback on corrective actions and act as a technical resource when required.
  • Required to occasionally to assist in the on-site installation of machines and/or related customer training. (local, out of province or out of country)
  • Work within the health and safety guidelines and policies
  • Ensure that the work area is clean, safe and orderly
  • Take proper care of shop tools and make sure they are returned to their proper location daily

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • OSSD Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical School Diploma, Trade Certificate, or Equivalent Certificate of Qualifications and experience considered an asset
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 Experience as a Machine Builder or Millwright
  • Previous experience in custom machine building, automation, or packaging equipment is a must
  • Must be able to interpret and understand assembly drawings, prints, and models in both paper and electronic formats
  • Must be responsible for adhering to customer specifications as set forth by Engineering and Project Management
  • Ability to lift/push and pull up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and over 25 lbs on an occasional basis
