Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mac Operator to join our dynamic team in Canada. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mission by ensuring the efficient operation of our machinery and contributing to the production of high-quality packaging solutions that elevate our clients' brands.

Responsibilities

.Review docket information to ensure proper job is plated

Utilize Microsoft Excel, Worksheet and Access to ensure job specifications are entered into the system to meet production requirements

Communicate with Production Scheduler, Litho/Pre-press Manager to meet press room demands and customer timelines

When outputting plates ensure quality of plate is optimum for pressroom (ie. No scratches, dents, holes in image, hot spots or distortion of image)

Use tools such as die mylars, docket information, approved press proofs, folding samples and specification sheets to create mock-ups when needed to ensure plates meet customer specifications

Complete Quality Checklists as required

Move the plates and mylar to the appropriate press

Maintain and adhere to safety standards and perform housekeeping duties

Review all new files to ensure they comply with company specifications

Communicate the status of all open prep orders with Sales team and Customer Service Representatives

Ensure the new prep is reviewed within 24 hours of receipt and notify sales of any issues

Accurately track all prep work

Prepare pre-press quotes for any files requiring revisions (internal or customer requested) and submit to sales

Ensure actual costs of Mac machine time is tracked accurately on prep dockets

Work with prepress coordinator to proof and prep all new files and or revised files ( Illustrator, Esko, Artpro Globalvision)

Schedule the completion of all prep work with the prepress coordinator and confirm an availability timeline

Ensure all prep is completed in a timely manner

Maintain prepress prep list (current, accurate and complete)

Maintain and update PDF shared drive

Prepare files for output using layout software and Pandora

Check and edit trapping as required

Checking and ensuring proper colour break or files match docket order specifications

Assign colours in Esko workflow for proofing of any potential problems

Advise sales, customer service and manager of any potential problems

Create mockups for all new jobs

Completing quotations for mac work on files

Prepare process colour proofs and mockups for quality control

Follow all ISO and health & safety procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Demonstrate a deliberate focus on Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction

Adhere to all IFS PacSecure policies and procedures, including product safety, food safety and Good Manufacturing practices. (GMPs)

Qualifications

Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on packaging. Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Previous experience with machining processes is an asset.
