Valstone is looking for a talented, versatile, and passionate Sr Associate to lead M&A efforts to acquire industrial technology and software companies

The Sr M&A Associate will work in an extremely entrepreneurial environment and will be responsible for building relationships with software business owners, brokers, and the like, with the ultimate goal of capital deployment and investment. You will be a full-cycle M&A professional with salesmanship and charisma for business development activities, but also have analytical and financial authority to manage and execute the due diligence process.

Founded and based in in Montreal, Canada , Valstone's focus is to acquire and grow industrial vertical software businesses that provide mission-critical solutions in their respective niche or market.
Valstone provide technology for heavy construction materials, agriculture, grain, forestry, waste, and recycling industries. Valstone looks to extend its solutions portfolio through a buy and hold strategy of mission-critical software and integrated system solution providers.

As a Sr M&A Associate, you will:
[Day to day responsibilities]

• Responsible for identifying M&A targets (sourcing opportunities)
• Responsible for overseeing and building the deal origination plan
• Evaluation investment opportunities and advancing a deal to LOI
• Conducting pre-acquisition due diligence (commercial, financial)
• Negotiate deal terms (with support of Investment Partner)
• Generating $200M of buyable revenue opportunities per quarter and achieve $15 - 20M per year in acquired revenues when fully ramped up

You will be set up for success if you have:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in either Finance, Accounting, Engineering or another quantitative field
• 2-5 years\' experience in Investment banking, private equity, M&A or corporate development, capital markets setting.
• Strong business development and financial analysis skills, including building financial models
• Fluent in English

• Familiarity with the Constellation model/VMS or software experience/knowledge
