M365 Technical Architect

We have a terrific new internal permanent opportunity for a M365 Technical Architect here at AMTRA Solutions. In this position, you will spend your time architecting and implementing M365-focused solutions for our customers. Project work will include discovery, design, configuration and implementation across a variety of Microsoft products, with a strong focus on Identity, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Viva, Purview, and Copilot for M365. A strong understanding of how to design the solutions at an enterprise level is paramount to your success in the role.

AMTRA works with customers of all sizes, from mid-sized businesses to major public sector organizations. In these environments, you will be working across a wide array of projects, including (but not limited to) M365 technical roadmap development, intranet and collaboration solution implementation (like enterprise MS Teams rollouts), large-scale content migrations, Copilot readiness planning & remediation, and compliance initiatives focused on information protection and security hardening projects. Delivery across multiple streams often happens concurrently, with many technical dependencies to be considered.

You will be supported through project delivery by a full project team, including AMTRAs Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Project Managers, and Adoption Change Management specialists. Your performance will be measured through delivering successful customer projects, meeting internal innovation targets, and achieving the required Microsoft certifications. This is a remote position, with the opportunity to leverage AMTRAs office space in Calgary.

The main areas of responsibility include:

Design, configure, and support the implementation of Microsoft services and associated functionality:

• Work directly with customers to finalize project requirements by leading discovery and design workshops and completing hands-on implementation across the following types of projects:

• M365 strategic road mapping
• M365 tenant setup and migration
• M365 governance implementation
• M365 corporate intranets
• M365 collaboration solution implementation
• Microsoft Information Protection implementation
• Copilot for M365 readiness planning & remediation
• Ensure M365 services are designed in compliance with customer requirements and technical best practices.
• Provide hands on implementation support for multi-phased projects with dependencies across multiple Microsoft services.
• Work with AMTRAs Technical Architects through project delivery, ensuring architectural plans are implemented as designed.

• Support content migrations from legacy systems to M365 services.
• Work with AMTRAs adoption Change Management team to identify end user impact of implementations to ensure effective training & communications are developed.

• 5+ years of relevant Microsoft cloud project delivery across multiple complex customer environments.
• Experience in planning, designing, and implementing successful enterprise scale infrastructure solutions.
• A strong understanding of how to design and implement Microsoft cloud services, including:

• Identity
• Exchange
• SharePoint Online
• Microsoft Teams
• OneDrive
• Purview Compliance Center configuration, including Information protection, Data loss prevention, and insider risk management.
• A strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure as it relates to the identified M365 cloud services (for example, on-prem identity management or hybrid Exchange).
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage in multiple concurrent complex projects.

• Successful implementations across multiple complex customer environments
• Microsoft certifications / badges, with a preference given to MS-700, MS-102, SC-400, SC-300, MS-500, AI-900.
• Experience implementing or maintaining M365 information architecture in other Microsoft services such as Intune or Defender.
• Experience implementing or maintaining Azure services.
• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell, Windows scripting languages, and IT automation processes.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing automation for maintaining and administering the above technologies
