Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Lumber Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will assist customers in selecting lumber and building materials, provide product demonstrations, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for retail sales.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in locating and selecting lumber and building materials based on their project needs Provide product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding Handle POS transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments Upsell complementary products to maximize sales opportunities Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure the store is clean and inviting Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally Utilize communication skills to educate customers about product options and usage tips Manage time effectively to serve multiple customers efficiently during busy periods

Skills

Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening Organizational skills to manage stock, displays, and customer flow effectively Basic math skills for cash handling, POS transactions, and pricing calculations Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor Ability to perform retail sales with upselling techniques to increase sales volume Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases Experience in merchandising, technical sales, or product demos is advantageous Familiarity with retail POS systems and cash register operations Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
