Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Lumber Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales, customer service, and merchandising, with the ability to assist customers in selecting the right products and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This role offers an engaging work environment where communication skills, sales abilities, and product knowledge are essential for success.

Duties

Assist customers in selecting lumber and related building materials Maintain organized stock levels through effective merchandising and stocking practices Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy Manage product displays and ensure the store layout is appealing and accessible Support supervising staff with inventory management and store cleanliness Engage in basic math calculations for transactions and inventory counts Ensure proper phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries

Experience

Previous experience in retail hardware stores preferred Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math concepts Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities Strong communication skills are highly valued Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, merchandising, and stock management will be advantageous Customer service experience emphasizing friendly interaction and problem-solving skills is essential

Pay: $17.20-$24.00 per hour
