Overview

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Long Term Disability assistant to perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support our Long Term Disability Services department. In this department, we implement long-term disability benefits for workers who have permanent disabilities as a result of work-related injuries.

This position is a temporary assignment of approximately 18 months.

Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

  • Respond to telephone inquiries; provide routine information in relation to pension assessments, appointments, reimbursements, policy and procedures; screen and refer calls/callers as appropriate
  • Receive and screen claim files; identify \xe2\x80\x9cimmediate action\xe2\x80\x9d files; send applicable correspondence; determine correct category and assign to appropriate personnel
  • Receive, date stamp, sort and prioritize all incoming mail and fax information; redirect undelivered/unclaimed mail or cheques to appropriate departments
  • File correspondence and other material, or forward/deliver to personnel along with claim files where necessary. Import documents onto CMS, respond to pension commutation entitlement inquiries, review eligibility within guidelines, and forward appropriate commutation package

Your experience and educational background:
  • A minimum of grade 12 education
  • A minimum of 18 months of recent, related work experience in a clerical role
  • Excellent English language skills, including grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension
