Located in downtown Edmonton, our pharmacy specializes in the safe and efficient dispensing of medications for opioid dependency treatment. We are committed to ensuring a fast, streamlined process while prioritizing the health and well-being of each individual.

Position Overview:



Reporting to the pharmacist or physician, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals undergoing opioid dependency treatment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the LPN will support patient recovery by transporting and administering opioid dependency medications, monitoring vital signs, and offering compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:



Transport and personally deliver opioid dependency treatment to patients' residences, ensuring accurate administration and witnessing of medication.

Maintain comprehensive, accurate documentation of all medication deliveries in compliance with established protocols and regulations.

Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes or concerns to the pharmacist or physician.

Assist with the prescription process by conducting nursing assessments and obtaining relevant medical history from patients.

Provide ongoing support and education to patients regarding their treatment plans, medications, and recovery goals.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Attend daily conference calls with the physician on-site to discuss patient care and treatment plans.

Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by enforcing pharmacy policies, responding to emergencies, and ensuring patient safety.

Document all nursing interventions, observations, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:



- Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).

- Previous experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings is preferred but not required.

- Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to caring for individuals with substance use disorders.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.

- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to employment.

Position Details:



This is a full-time position with flexible hours, based on-site in downtown Edmonton.
