We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical documentation, with an emphasis on safety and precision. The Low Voltage Technician will work closely with project managers and other technical staff to ensure the successful deployment of systems such as alarm systems, surveillance systems, access control systems, smart homes/businesses, telecommunication networks, etc.
Responsibilities
Install, test, and troubleshoot the systems we install.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for system installation and maintenance.
Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of equipment and network connectivity.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with construction teams during project phases to coordinate system integration.
Document work performed through detailed reports and update schematics as needed.
Adhere to all safety protocols and building codes during installation and troubleshooting activities.
Skills
Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and technical diagrams.
Strong electrical experience with knowledge of low voltage systems.
Familiarity with computer hardware, networking, and telecommunication infrastructure.
Mechanical knowledge related to system components and installation techniques.
Experience working with CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and related security technology.
Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, as well as power tools safely.
Knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring and system layouts.
Understanding of construction processes relevant to low voltage system installation.
