PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is focused on assessing risk and mitigating losses for our commercial, farm and residential lines policyholders. This position manages a team of loss prevention specialists and are responsible for loss prevention from a risk perspective and as well as corporate loss control initiatives that tie into our commitment as a mutual insurance company. The Loss Prevention team is a policyholder facing team and are key roles in the presentation and branding of Red River Mutual.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Create and execute on business plans as it relates to loss prevention and ensure projects are in line with corporate strategic objectives.
Assess the risk and write up inspection reports for the broker, policyholder and underwriter.
Provide support, mentoring and coaching to the loss prevention specialists including formal loss control training.
Conduct on-site visits of high valued properties and high exposure liability properties
Ensure the customer service experience in conducting loss prevention inspections are kept at high standards and that loss prevention services are a value-added benefit.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with broker partners including on-site visitations and loss prevention training sessions.
Provide risk specific data to support business analytic projects to understand current book and assist with risk scoring of our book of business.
Conduct on-site visits of high valued properties and high exposure liability properties
Participate in Corporate Events, including broker seminars, picnics, golf tournaments, etc.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
10 years as a loss prevention specialist with progressively more supervision of people.
CIP, FCIP or CRM designation required.
Post-Secondary Education preferred.
Strong understanding of building code and bylaws, CSA standards, ULC standards and loss control measures.
Experience and Training with building construction and hazards.
Experience with building appraisals, risk assessment, loss prevention and coverage
