We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances while ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage long hours on the road.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes and distances.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and mileage as required by regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations during transit.
Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklift operation when required.
Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and operational protocols.
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly in long haul or over-the-road transportation.
Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations.
Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, is preferred.
Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for maintaining vehicle functionality on the road.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including loading/unloading freight and long hours of driving.
