Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances while ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of equipment.

Duties

Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Manage loading and unloading of freight, utilizing forklift and heavy equipment operation skills as necessary. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption in compliance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit. Perform minor automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle as needed to ensure optimal performance. Ensure that all freight is secured properly to prevent damage during transport.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record and Fast card . Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably in long haul or over-the-road transportation. Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols. Strong skills in operating heavy equipment and forklifts. Basic knowledge of automotive repair techniques is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on the road. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, dispatchers, and team members.
