Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods over long distances. This role requires expertise in operating various types of trucks and trailers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and drive a tractor-trailer over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage. Navigate routes effectively, utilizing GPS systems and maps to optimize delivery times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and other required documentation. Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, road conditions, and any issues that may arise during transit. Ensure the proper handling of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment as required by the load.

Skills

Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles and operating various types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers. Strong commercial driving experience with a focus on safety and compliance in route driving. Ability to load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment as necessary. Excellent navigation skills with experience in route planning for timely deliveries. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with dispatchers and clients. A commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
