Long Haul Flatbed Truck Driver

Overview

We are seeking a

reliable and experienced Long Haul Flatbed Truck Driver

to join our professional transportation team. The ideal candidate will operate heavy-duty

manual transmission trucks

over long distances across

Canada and the United States

, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery of flatbed freight.

This role requires strong driving skills, excellent knowledge of load securement, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

Safely operate

flatbed trucks

over long-distance routes throughout North America. Transport and deliver freight efficiently and on schedule. Conduct

pre-trip and post-trip inspections

to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.

Properly secure all loads

using chains, straps, and tarps according to safety and regulatory standards. Demonstrate

accurate knowledge of load measurements

to ensure legal and balanced loading. Apply

proper load weight distribution techniques

according to axle weight regulations. Load and unload freight when required, ensuring proper handling and cargo protection. Maintain accurate

trip logs, mileage reports, and maintenance records

. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding schedules, delays, or issues. Perform

basic mechanical troubleshooting or repairs

when necessary. Follow all

company policies, and federal/provincial/state transportation and safety regulations

.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 months of verifiable flatbed driving experience

with

manual transmission trucks

.

Valid CDL (Class 1/AZ)

with

0 points on driving abstract

.

Comprehensive knowledge of load securement, measuring, and weight distribution (axle-wise).

Experience with

chains, straps, tarps, and other load securement tools

. Clean criminal record and ability to

cross the U.S. border

. Ability to work independently and manage long-haul trips efficiently. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of

basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures

. Must comply with all

transportation safety and regulatory standards

.
