Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances while ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to following all safety regulations and maintaining the integrity of the cargo. A successful Long Haul Driver will possess excellent driving skills, a thorough understanding of commercial driving regulations, and the ability to operate heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial vehicle over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklift operation skills when required. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo information as per regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, road conditions, and any issues that may arise during transit. Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance during long hauls. Manage freight documentation and ensure proper handling of cargo throughout the transportation process.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience in freight transportation, including knowledge of loading/unloading procedures. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety standards. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various driving conditions. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
