Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced a Class 1 Driver to join our Calgary, AB Waste Management team.

As this position is based in Calgary, AB, the successful candidate would need to be within one hour of Calgary.

Key Accountabilities:

• Safely operate tridrive roll off truck and trailer or tridrive truck with flat deck trailer/van trailer/super b trailer in diverse weather and challenging work site environments
• Moffett/forklift experience is essential
• Comply with all site and jurisdiction traffic safety legislation;
• Inspect transport units and loads (pre trip and post trip) to ensure safe operations required by jurisdiction, and or/ NSC standards;
• Attend and participate in Secure Energy safety meetings
• Complete all required daily safety paperwork
• Ensure load is always properly secured and within legal load limits
• Completion and submission on a timely basis of all documentation as required. This includes logbooks, equipment inspection reports, time tickets, accompanying manifests, trip records, fuel, and credit card receipts (JSA's and WSRA's);
• Abide by all Secure Energy and customer specific safety procedures;
• Ensure all Secure Energy safety policies and procedures are followed;
• Safely operate heavy equipment
• Abide by all Waste Services and customer plant-specific safety procedures
• Ensure all labels are completed in full including shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG Class, UN number, Packing Group number, load number etc.
• Inspect all waste material to ensure compliance with manifest, recycle docket and bill of lading descriptions.
• Communicate effectively daily with Dispatch to maximize customer needs and Secure Energy efficiencies.
• Complete minor preventative maintenance such as greasing, air filter checks, brake adjustments and settings
• TDG, WHIMS, Oil and Gas experience is an asset

What you will bring to the role:

• Minimum of 3 years driving experience in the transportation industry
• Solid knowledge base with respect to Hours of Service, load securement and driving regulations
• Solid understanding of Canadian geography, highway systems and remote oilfield locations
• Solid understanding of TDG, specially placarding and manifest completion
• Prior experience in roll-off, truck with flat deck or van trailer is required
• Class 1 driver certification
• Must have clean drivers abstract
• Must be able to work varied shifts with uncertain start and finish times
• May have to spend nights in hotels/truck bunks on extended projects and pickups
