Logistics Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:



The Logistics Technician is responsible for operating the stockroom; printing/packing and shipping all internal and external client orders in an accurate and timely manner. The Logistics Technician is also responsible for maintaining a proper storage facility of all collateral material, course training material as well as the operation of the mail and messenger services of the Association. The Logistics Technician reports directly to the Manager, Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Monitor all in-person and GP orders; print, package, and ship internal and external orders in a timely manner, prioritizing rush orders. This may also include binding of materials, and product replacement due to supply issues. Performs regular routine deliveries of course materials as well as picking up any returns, incoming mail or other items as necessary. Deliver urgent course materials to consultants in the GTA region as required. Receives all incoming stock and performs inventory checks to cross reference inventory reports on all collateral materials. As well as sending packing slips to the finance department and maintaining up to date manifests of all inbound and outbound parcels/goods. Processes all incoming material returns, ensuring they are properly sorted and returned to stockroom for redeployment. Provide a high-level of customer service by addressing internal and external stockroom-related inquiries or direct inquiries to the appropriate department. This may include providing quotes/pricing for shipments; order tracking details; inventory levels; providing assistance with bulk quantity orders and products, codes, and publication dates. Oversees printer maintenance, including proper printer functions; filling machines, changing parts, paper jams, ensure constant connection to the printer production server, quality control on all in house printed materials, programs and coordinates files through the use of commercial printer software to meet the daily demands of all orders; internal and external customers. Acting as a liaison between printer analysts and IHSA IT staff for trouble shooting and repairing print servers. Copier technical assessment, troubleshooting to printing production copier. Process vendor's transfer and year-end inventory count. Maintain inventory of supplies needed to operate all printing machines for IHSA facilities; office supplies for all internal staff including fulfilling Formstack orders for IHSA home office staff. Responsible for maintaining clear and safe work environment within the stockroom areas, this includes relocating materials and skids, coordinating with facilities for recycling/garbage/skid pick-up and winter maintenance of loading dock; conducting inspections on all hands-on and hydraulic equipment used; and coordination of maintenance of the IHSA company vehicle. Also responsible for monitoring security monitors and respond/escalate as appropriate; assist with lifting and handling of heavy items as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.

Planning & Coordinating:



Print jobs and course materials based on training schedule. Plan out daily activities based on order priority level, addressing printer (production printers) issues in a timely manner to ensure orders are fulfilled on time. Assist with inventory management and receiving of goods, products, and safety supplies. Monitor and update inventory levels of IHSA products/supplies, notifying affected parties when there is low stock and coordinate anticipated future inventory fulfillment date with vendor and affected parties.

Communication:



Communicate with customer service representatives and external print provider to print material supplier for all internal/external products not produced in stockroom. Logistics Technician responsible for notifying CSR if materials are out of stock and anticipated future inventory. Logistics Technician responsible for contacting external print provider to provide material/shipment information for orders processed through the Stockroom and orders fulfilled directly by external print provider.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Post-secondary education completion preferably in Logistics/Distribution or related area. Minimum of one (1) year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license required. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Great Plains, Adobe, Xerox Fiery Print Server, Xerox Print Engines, Purolator E-ship software, Pitney Bowes mail machine postage updates. Knowledge of inventory, shipping/receiving, mailing and ordering skills. 75% minimum interview score required for consideration.
