As the Logistics Planner, you're the driving force behind smooth shipments, ensuring every detail is in place so the team can work efficiently. It's a quick-thinking, detail-driven role that keeps you on your toes -- but that's what makes it exciting for you!
Your day starts by reviewing allocation sheets and shipment schedules. A walkthrough of the shipping warehouse gives you a pulse on the day ahead -- racks are prepped, plant heights look as they should, and customer carts are in place.
Back at your desk, you log into iQ, our ERP system, to verify ship-to addresses and ensure shipment details are accurate. You take a moment to grab a fresh cup of coffee before updating the picking crew's line-item comments -- clear, helpful notes that keep the team working efficiently.
As shipments roll out, you check UPC and price stickers, ensuring they match product specifications. Part-way through your checks, you get a call from the picking crew: there's a discrepancy in racking quantities. A quick cross-check of paperwork versus actual needs solves the issue without causing delays in loading the trucks.
Another check ensures hardgoods and value-added products are on-site or arriving on time. Meanwhile, shipment optimization tasks help maximize the space and efficiency of outgoing trucks.
One last warehouse walkthrough, a review of tomorrow's schedule, and everything is set -- another day, another batch of perfectly executed shipments!
